OK, now it is. Still not working as in making $$$. Hoping they will find something. I did talk to my boss and they are trying to find me something after a fashion. Course with everyone off for the holidays my working is rather low priority for them. I may have to ask the docs to let me work regular duty if they can't find any light duty. I did work for over a year with a dislocated shoulder before getting it fixed and it still hurts. So it's not like I can't work in excruciating pain, I can. I doubt they will actually do anything aside from telling me to lose weight. At 136lbs, I'm not exactly grossly overweight. But I will do the prudent thing if they let me work, ie cut out the overtime.
Testing as I had to change all the passwords after blogger was hacked. If this works, I'm back to blogging. It's not working.

Tuesday, December 25, 2001

End of a holiday, nothing's better. Talked with the boss yesterday, yes he got my message, no he hasn't done anything, they have to follow rules. I did stress the severity of the situation, no work no money, even mentioned the a word. He will get back to me Wednesday, it doesn't look promising.

On the home front, thought my dear adorable child had improved. She did spend her whole first paycheck buying gifts for the family, including me. She even went to Grandma's unlike last year when she didn't go and got nothing for anyone except her boyfriend. But then I checked a while ago and she wan't home. Neither was the car. Both her friend and I were here to do driving duty if she asked. She knows she shouldn't drive cause the insurance won't cover her. She knows I may be hard up for money if they don't let me work. So, I was royally pissed and called her on the cell, blasting her for taking it. She'd better not wreck it.
In true holiday spirit, I am sharing one of my favorite Christmas songs from the person who most inspired my writing.

Christmas At Ground Zero
by Weird Al Yankovic

It's Christmas at Ground Zero
There's music in the air
The sleigh bells are ringin' and the carolers are singin'
While the air raid sirens blare

It's Christmas at Ground Zero
The button has been pressed
The radio just let us know
That this is not a test

Everywhere the atom bombs are droppin'
It's the end of all humanity
No more time for last minute shoppin'
It's time to face your final destiny

Well, it's Christmas at Ground Zero
There's panic in the crowd
We can dodge debris while we trim the tree
Underneath a mushroom cloud

(siren)

You might hear some reindeer on your rooftop
Or Jack Frost on your windowsill
But if someone's climbin' down your chimney
You better load your gun and shoot to kill

Oh, it's Christmas at Ground Zero
And if the radiation level's okay
I'll go out with you and see the all new
Mutations on New Year's Day

It's Christmas at Ground Zero
Just seconds left to go
I'll duck and cover with my yuletide lover
Underneath the mistletoe

It's Christmas at Ground Zero
Now the missiles are on their way
What a crazy fluke we're gonna get nuked
On this jolly holiday
What a crazy fluke we're gonna get nuked
On this jolly holiday

Well, stuck on the compy cause Qwest is having major outages, and here I thought it was the compy or the hub that was the problem and have been rebooting all day. So, I noticed when visiting the WebRing site, it had a little Y! beside the http. I asked on list and got this nifty page from James. So now, if you go to my site, providing you put it in favorites, you get a favicon. It only seems to work on the index page but it's better than nothing and certainly better than a little Y!.

Other than that nothing's changed, still all gloomy cause of work. But one nice friend was very helpful and lifted my spirits. No work, no money, no dj, well guess I'll have to sell them.

And that's not all. The person at the doc's office that was to handle the Family Medical Leave Act forms so I wouldn't get fired for being sick is off til next Thursday and of course, they haven't been filled out. They have only had them for a couple weeks (correction almost 3 weeks) and are in no hurry to do anything for me. After complaining about a coworker who was given preferential treatment and light duty who wasn't injured on the job, my supervisor had a list of specific questions about my limitations that HR wanted and told me to call the doc for the answers. I was told in no uncertain terms that they wouldn't provide them and if my employer wanted them, he had to fax them to the office. So I told my supervisor and of course he didn't fax them. They are in no hurry to accomodate me. Considering what a wonderful place I work for, it's no wonder people don't want to enter my profession.
Nother update, Well, aside from having another test, I don't expect them to do anything about my back. I got the impression I wasn't in bad enough shape for them to do anything.. I can't afford to be off without income. It will be another 5 years before I can accrue enough time off to have any procedure done for any reason. I only get about 20 vacation days/year. Extended illness maxes out at 800 hours or maybe it's both that max out at that. It will take over 15 years to accrue that. There is no short term disability. Long term disability doesn't start til I am off for 6 months. Naturally, I found out how wonderful the benefits weren't after I had seen the doc. I would have been better to do nothing and just suffer working. When my supervisor took me down to find out just what there was available, I was told nothing. I am screwed. And since the doc said I could work, I won't be able to get even long term disability til he says I can't and am off another 6 months. And of course, if my employer says they won't provide me with light duty even temporarily, I am screwed royally now. I've got 1 1/2 paychecks coming then I am out of money. I expect I will have to sell or lose everything. And I am very not happy as things look extremely bleak. What's worse is I am out of meds to OD on. I've even contemplated digging out my 38. Yes, I am depressed about it all, very, very depressed. And no I am not in a fic writing mood or a dollz making mood or even a letter making mood.

Thursday, December 20, 2001

Finally getting down to writing bout my visit to the doctor. I have a cyst at S1S2 and spinal stenosis with disc compression at L4L5. The cyst would explain my numb butt and tingling down the back of the leg but not the top of my foot. So I am going to have an EMG hopefully soon. I can go back to work but no lifting. And of course, with my wonderful employer (supervisor), after telling me that they could find me light duty, now say they can't. That is only provided to people who get injured on the job. I mentioned the coworker who worked a desk job for a while cause off due to illness. Not sure if that will help. I do note things have gotten worse since the union lost the vote. Damn!

So, in that bad mood, I sit and play with IncrediMail. It's unfortunately a Windows program but it is lots of fun. It does tend to crash a lot on my compy and after asking around found I just don't have enough memory to handle such a graphics intensive program (old compy). So, there is a possibility I may get another Windows machine when my health settles. I am thinking about one of those dual processor G4's running Virtual PC now that they have an OSX version. Oh comeon, I am thoroughly spoiled by OSX, it is more stable, UNIX you see.

Could have posted Thursday after the CT, so I screwed up on the date. But I was rather upset after seeing my supervisor. I finally got my eval, great eval, sucky raise $0.24/hour doesn't go far. And if that wasn't bad enough, it gets worse. I am almost out of time off and my employer doesn't have short term disability. Long term disability doesn't kick in until I am off for 6 months. That's 5 months without any income. They have emergency assistance which is a one time deal only if you are in danger of losing your house. So I am hoping the doc doesn't have bad news cause I need to work. No work, no money. And yes, my butt still hurts, well my back hurts is more like it.

Monday, December 10, 2001

Update, the MRI is scheduled for Tuesday and the CT for Wednesday. Fun! And changing the topic abruptly, I used to sleep in the room below the AC unit and wake to feel like the house was vibrating. It was weird but if it ain't broke, why fix it. I also occasionally wake to short runs of SVT which take my breath away. Why mention it? I changed rooms, and woke today feeling like the building was vibrating. Another way to describe it was a fluttering sensation. Anyway, curious I grabbed the old stethescope and listened, it was my heart. Guess I have a new arrhythmia. Well, I'll have it looked into after the neurosurgeons are done with me and after the orthopedic surgeon is done with me. And if I'm not all wore out or broke by then, I'll go see a rheumatologist. My knees were swollen which is what I initially went to the doc to see. Think I'm gettting old and falling apart.

At least I do do something useful sortof. I play with dollz, you know those cute cartoon dollz all over the net. A frend sent me a few on a ML and then told me where she got them. I checked it out and found I could create (more properly edit) my own dolls with a drag and drop script. I have seen some other cartoonish characters in blogs but they were more limited in choices. Searching, I found some great sites with dollmakers but noticed a big lack. There are very few guys and most of what they have are overly muscled Dragon Ball Z types with clothing reminiscent of N Sync. One site had a few slender bishie types. So, my goal is to create a bishie/yaoi dollmaker to fill that lack. It's fun amusement and keeps me occupied while waiting for results from the docs.

Was asked about that link: "One teeny tiny question. Exactly what does one DO with the 20" dildoes on the UK site?"

So I came up with some possible uses for the giant dildo:
1) Sculpture, display on the coffee table or on a shelf.
2) Paperweight
3) White elephant gift at your church Christmas party.
4) Hatrack
5) Sex, can't hurt any worse than fisting.
6) Club, use it for self defense against an attacker.
7) Twink deterrent, display prominently when a fundie comes to the door.
8) The perfect gift for the person who has everything.
9) Christmas tree, wrap it up in twinkling lights.
10) For the guy who doesn't understand the meaning of the word NO. Tell him he has to be THIS big (show dildo) or he doesn't get any.
11) The perfect prop when you go live on your webcam.

bishies for the holidays holiday greetings. And on a cheery note, Kandahar has fallen, Mullah Omar has fled, and Pat Robertson has left the Christian Coalition. However, my butt still hurts, and not cause of this but cause I went shopping. Really needed to get something for Christmas.

Monday, December 03, 2001

I saw the doc and I didn't get admitted to the hospital after all. The tests will be done outpatient when they get around to it. Seems the doc that was going to admit me got in trouble with the insurance company for admitting a patient over the weekend. Gee, if he had admitted me, he would have been in even more trouble. What counts is saving money for the insurance not one's health. Least the doc was nice and called me, had the appointment all set up.

Saturday, December 01, 2001

My night in hell: I spent some 20 hours in hell (the ER) yesterday. It started simply enough with my waking with a numb butt. I mentioned that to my therapist in PT cause I couldn't feel the heating pad where it was numb. She called my doc's office, they couldn't get me in and she suggested I go to the ER. The first idiot said "You're here for pain meds." Not exactly, the first doc got the point, I was here to rule out cauda equina which is a medical emergency. Next idiot blew a vein starting an IV, a nice big one noone had ever blown. And since I had to wait many hours to get a MRI with sedation, I agreed to have it without despite claustrophobia.

Many hours later after the MRI results were back, a different ER doc said I was going to go home but that they first wanted a post void residual. After complaining about the pain, etc., another idiot, when I was told I was going to go home, brought me straight demerol. I told him that I will throw up unless it's given with an antiemetic and that as I was driving, I didn't want the demerol. So he brought back the demerol with vistaril which I still refused.

Back to the cath, I had just voided and told the doctor. No one came. I finally voided again, put on the call light and waited a whole 20 minutes before someone came, cup in hand, and asked if I peed in it. She had the cup, I had already gone, dumb question. FInally after another 10 minutes had passed, another idiot came and inserted a catheter, using a foley instead of a straight cath kit, inflated the balloon and proceeded to tug on it repeatedly while taking off the wrapping which she should have taken off before she inserted it, holding it up in the air, still pulling, to drain, pee doesn't drain against gravity. I'm still in pain from that one.

After all that, I was immensely relieved to see a doc I know and that actually knew what he was doing (neurosurgeon=god). He decided to order another MRI and as I had been there over 12 hours at that point, ordered it stat which I greatly appreciated. And it was done stat, without any meds, hurt worse that the first one.

Hours passed, a neurologist showed up, examined me, told me neurosurg signed off the case, stated the MRI's were normal. I will mention that I was initially told that I had sciatic nerve impingement and degenerative changes. I asked if he had read the second MRI. He hadn't. How can he know it's normal if he doesn't know the results? He had no idea why I was in pain and after examining me decided I should just follow up with my orthopedist as he knew me well and I could just take the meds I already had at home. I was initially told they were going to give me a Rx for Vicodin.

OK, I had been there for about 17 hours at that point, hadn't eaten for 20 hours, and asked for some juice. That person didn't come back for a long time then finally returned saying they couldn't give me anything to eat. Finally, still in severe pain, awaiting discharge instructions, but not being allowed food, I broke down and cried. A very nice person who wasn't involved in my care came to my rescue and brought me juice and food. And after a couple more hours, one of the people brought the discharge instructions in. I was surprised to find I was to follow up with a neurosurgeon, a different pain med was ordered, and that the diagnosis was L4 L5 bulging disk. Naturally, the idiot had no idea why the change. So I went home confused as to why.

After I had been home for about three hours and was asleep, I got a call from the neurosurgeon I was supposed to see wanting to admit me for more tests. I suffered thru idiots that didn't know what they were doing, idiots telling me one thing, then someone else telling me something completely different, about 22 hours without food, water or pain meds, and the worst service I had ever had in that hospital. And as I barely had a couple hours sleep, I was in no hurry to go back. I politely told the doc that they won't run tests on the weekend, and asked if it could wait til Monday. I really need the time just to calm down. He said he will call tomorrow to see how I am doing too.

Monday, November 26, 2001

Had an enlightening day, my ex called for my kid, we got talking, and lo and behold the story she told him about the car getting wrecked didn't match the story she told me. I called her, out with her friends being useless as usual and she finally told me the truth. She wasn't driving. A so called friend took the keys and went joyriding and wrecked the car. Now that would have been covered by insurance. She cost me over $2000. And of course he was going to pay til he ended up in jail for grand theft auto, different car. Seems he likes joyriding a bit too much. And she nearly lost the tire off the car, the one I bought to replace the one he wrecked along with the front end, cause the lug nuts got loose cause the person at the tire place didn't tighten it properly. Oh, she hasn't gone back to straighten that out either. And she still doesn't have a job. And she soon will not have a home. I am fed up.

So, what else is new? Went to the doc last week for an earache, got an antibiotic which apparently didn't work. So now, after the doc's assistant didn't return my call, I went to Urgent Care with stabbing pain, ringing in my ear, and not being able to hear much. Now I have a ruptured eardrum. Safe to say I am not listening to the iPod. And the doc still hasn't told me the results of my hip xrays, probably will need surgery or something eventually, hopefully before I am unable to walk.

Been working, ewwww, boring. Been sleeping cause so tired from working, haven't done anything. News, hmmm, either the monitor or the video card on the PC is dying, all wiggly, jiggly, and stuff. That may be fine for big boobies but not for monitors. I hardly ever use the thing anyway. Kids do. I prefer laying in bed with my iBook, easier, nicer, no blue screen of death.

Update on the iPod, it works great in the car hooked up to the car's stereo and even doubles as a mirror. ^_^

Wednesday, November 14, 2001

Been busy. I updated OSX, iTunes and downloaded all my songs into iPod faster than I could have imagined and with infinitely less trouble than I could have done anything with Windows. Window Update always tended to overwrite essential ddl's and require an fdisk. Firewire is definitely fast. I did find another use for the iPod. It is great for lifting fingerprints. I would have preferred the brushed metal look of the PowerBook or iBook to the shiny too easy to cover with fingerprints metal they used. Otherwise, it is very neat and definitely easy to use.
Time flies when I'm having fun, er well not exactly. OK, Kabul has fallen, things are looking up in Afghanistan. My hip, however, hasn't which is why I am not on the compy much. Yes, pain and torture has yet to improve it. In fact, it's worse. Oh bother! And I have work to do, lots of work. I need to upgrade to iTunes2 then download all my Mp3's into my iPod which arrived Monday. And with my luck, I had to work so haven't had time to play. Well, not totally true. Now that WebRing has laft Yahoo, I can customize all the navbars, really customize them. Course, the move isn't very obvious to the non observant cause the new WebRing site looks exactly like the old Yahoo! Webring site.

Tuesday, November 06, 2001

Gee, it's November and I still haven't done anything. Well, I have been hanging around Yahoo Clubs but considering what has gone on in there, I have become somewhat disenchanted. So I left most of them. I haven't been on the compy much either as it hurts to sit. Bad hip, I start pain and torture (PT) tomorrow. If I can stand sitting long enough, I will try to update the site. Somehow, I find it easier to just lay in bed reading my doujinshi.

Thursday, October 25, 2001

OK, well got the compy working, actually the iBook works better. Anyway, now I wait my iPod. After all, looking at MP3 players that have a paltry 32MB ram, seeing one with a 5GB hard drive that can serve as a back up for data, well, it was irresistable, firewire even, charges thru the firewire when downloading the music. I remember being impressed with a Memorex CD Player that played MP3's and held over 100 songs on one CD. This holds 1000 and is color and designed coordinated to go very nicely with my iBook. And remember burning several CD's before I got one that worked. This will be so much easier. And it is getting really good reviews too. ^_^

Tuesday, October 23, 2001

Ok, I get off work, sleep for 18 hours straight, then wake up and upgrade the iBook. OSX 10.1 is loads faster, cooler even. And I got a ton of email, notably one store opening. So, naturally, I went to the mall, the new mall, to go to the Apple Store. Yes, tons of stores full of yummies and I go drool over the new Macs. And the cinema displays are awesome. I want a G4 next. Hmmm, explorer crashed when I tried to check out the new iPod. Gotta reboot.

Thursday, October 18, 2001

600MHz G3, 30GB HD, 100MHz system bus, and with OSX 10.1: it's better than ever and I already have one of the first of the new iBooks. So, guess I will have to wait. They zipped up the Titanium Powerbook too. I can't wait to see what Apple has next.

Honen Matsuri the Japanese festival I have to see. Where else could one find a penis festival?
Probably should write something not that anyone will be reading this when CNN is more interesting. Let's see, into third day of bombing in Afghanistan and so far, it's pretty quiet here cept for a little anthrax scare. Course if they go after the terrorists not in Afghanistan, things could get more interesting. Well, despite all the gloomy news, this site still exists, gotta have some fun when not working.

Sunday, September 30, 2001

It's been a while and glad to say there have been no new attacks on American soil, no buildings bombed, no death of huge numbers of people, just a large number of arrests. Looks like someone has been doing their job. I commend President Bush for his handling of this crisis. I sleep easier now. Now if those spewing hate would open their eyes and realize that is counterproductive, we would really make some progress.

Saturday, September 15, 2001

Thinking back a few days, it occurred to me that 9/11 is 911. Wonder if the terrorists that picked that day thought of that? It has been hard to think of my site in this disaster. I was quite touched by the all the people worldwide that have shown their support, given their blood, said their prayers, held services on behalf of the victims, offered their aid. It helps counter the hate spewed on the net. Unfortunately, there is still a lot of hate, hate against Arabs, hate against liberal Americans, hate against everyone that doesn't think as you do. I deplore the hate and wish we could realize we are all God's children. We're in this together. And on a personal note, if we all thought alike, and all believed alike, it would be incredibly boring.

Tuesday, September 11, 2001

Found a good chronology of events of today for those that don't know. And now war has broken out in Afghanistan. This has been a very bad day. Gee, wonder what will be next? And here's a list of emergency numbers courtesy of Yahoo. Actually, Yahoo has been quite useful. I could access it when I couldn't access regular news sites. And international Yahoos make it easy to see what is happening elsewhere.
I get a whole day off and wake not to fun, not to cleaning, but to a rather odd post on a ML. Odd in that it was totally off topic and extremely upsetting. At the time, I didn't even check it out til I was IM'd. And so now I sit totally in shock listening to CNN in the background. I am totally horrified by the devastating news, moreso that there was some warning. Apparently, one Osama Bin Laden warned that he'd do this three weeks ago and wasn't taken seriously. Well, now that it is obvious that we have been attacked in a big way by terrorists, I expect changes and not pleasant changes in the way this country is run.

Wednesday, September 05, 2001

Back from Yaoi-Con and still wading thru the 47 some doujinshi that I got. Oh, I do have some good ones. Guess it's back to scanning. The con was great, got to meet a lot of friends, chat, think up demented fic ideas, etc. And I will never forget the useful stuff I learned, like new uses for corn.

Wednesday, August 29, 2001

OK, kid is now 18 and an adult. Her car is still in the shop. The van finally reached the magic 100,000 miles and is essentially worthless well as a trade. Nothing really wrong cept no AC and in 100+ heat, that is unbearable so I got myself a new car subject to credit approval, still waiting on that. And, it's finally almost here - Yaoi-Con. I'll be there.

Wednesday, August 22, 2001

OK, this is earthshaking news, I found a use for AOL, unzipping files on a Mac. It works, I can't believe it. I need sleep if I find AOL exciting. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Monday, August 20, 2001

Not much blogging, got to work lots of OT to pay for the car kid wrecked, first it was a tire, then it was a tire and rim, now it's the tire, rim and whole front end suspension. I really would like her to pay for it but at the rate she's going, it will be in the shop for a very long time. Meanwhile, my old clunker needs freon and driving it is like driving in an oven.

PC is still dead, haven't got time to fix it cause busy getting ready for Yaoi Con. And I need to update the website, all of it, headers need to be edited so it won't accept Smart Tags. I really don't want every instance of the word "word" or "office" or "window" to link to Microsoft.

Sunday, August 05, 2001

Slowpoke here has finally updated my iMac, now to get the site on the iBook. PC died, what do you expect? It's Windows, it always dies. Course, I will eventually have to fix it cause I have fics there that I don't have here. And kid wants the PC, seems she doesn't like the one button mouse of the Macs. However, I was able to impress her with OSX. Must say, Apple actually listens to customer input and the next update, OSX 10.1 adds stuff we asked for. Now that I like. Sure beats the horror stories I have been reading bout XP.

Friday, July 27, 2001

Been reading, not necessarily a good thing. Course, it would be a better thing if my kid hadn't IM'd using one of my SN's and then emailed it to her SN. Quoting her: "we went swiming too and once we decided that the pool was lame we went back inside and Miss. Jilly went to go take a shower and right in the middle of her shower Mr. Benjamin decided to get in the shower too . Then Mr. Benjamin stood behind Miss. Jilly holding her against him while feeling his hard cock against her making her want him even more .............so insteed of Miss. Jilly & Mr. Benjamin having some play time nothing happens" To quote her further: "miis jilly is very shit out of luck" She sure is. And she thinks I don't know much about computers.

Thursday, July 12, 2001

Finished reading the book think it was Tuesday morning and it was tragic in the end least in my opinion. Other than that, not much news. Missed AX, had to work, but the paycheck for all that OT was worth it. More money for Yaoi-Con. And the Bastard DVD boxed set I just ordered, even has a D.S. action figure, best price I found was at CDNOW. Soon, D.S. will be mine.

Thursday, July 05, 2001

Last time I posted I was reading the first book in a trilogy. Well, many sleepless nights later cause I just couldn't put the books down, I'm up to the last one and won't stop til I'm done. So, nothing is getting done, sorry bout that. And I found the best part, two males that were embracing, it was obvious that they "loved each other with a passion". Ah, yaoi!

Sunday, June 24, 2001

I don't blog much when I'm working 6 out of 7 days in a row, 12 hour shifts, too tired. I will say thou that when work gets boring, and it does, reading a good book whiles away the time nicely. I am reading a wonderful book now, first in an exciting trilogy, fantasy setting, called "The Golden Compass". It is full of high adventure, a fasinating alternate world with some interesting differences from this one, a compelling story and extremely well written. It has plot, something I desperately need in my writing. It's better than Anne Rice too.

Saturday, June 16, 2001

Having visited perhaps the most techie site I have found, very flash intensive, I feel mine is a bit dull. No flash, no counter, one measly popup map which is optional, frames which is optional, little graphics, fast loading...yes fast loading and hopefully easy to surf despite it being huge. Will I do flash and add a bunch of graphics to make it look swell? No, cause probably 90% of the people surfing have dial up modems. It's a challenge just to make things look decent in a variety of browsers, screen resolutions, platforms, etc. Will I get jealous of other more whiz bang sites? Definitely yes. Will I do something about it? Naw, I'll just go back to reading the djs that came today...Bart x Billy, whohoo!

Friday, June 15, 2001

Looking for a new email address, one that will definitely get noticed, check this out. Thinking WolfwoodxVash@getlaid.net would be so cute.
A nifty new club, firstamendmentdefenders has a nice series of people that have been victims of censorship. Good read and some great links.

Thursday, June 14, 2001

Which is more exciting the lovely picture I got in the mail of my teen, yes, she got her picture taken by photo radar for speeding, or the $526 phone bill she ran up chatting with her boyfriend who just dumped her? Guess I'll be working lots and lots of overtime. She is an expensive kid. Now if she'd just get a job.

Wednesday, June 06, 2001

Interesting bit in the news today, bout half of all net traffic goes to only four companies, AOL Time Warner, Microsoft, Yahoo!, and Napster, guess diversification is over. Course, if I were to root for one of the four, it would be Napster. Unrelated, finally for the birthday present of sorts, last night my adorable teen and I went to see The Mummy Returns. It was fun, definitely one to see on the big screen. Course, it had enough bugs to creep me out, those little scorpions, lots of little scorpions, and best of all had some great fighting between the ladies. And of course it had mummies, scary mummies that were rather a bit too powerful, silly pigmy mummies that were, well, silly, and of course, the Mummy. Bout the only thing the movie was lacking was a plot, well much of a plot. Makes me not feel to bad that I suck at plot. Course, when this huge army of the undead comes toward our good guys, I couldn't help but thinking that at least they didn't look as silly as an army of Jar Jar's. But thinking, that battle, with Jar Jar Binks, was funnier.

Tuesday, June 05, 2001

I just love work, well vacation is over, so back to work. Actually, it was good, I was exhausted from working so hard I actually slept well despite being all sore. So being all rested and in a slightly better mood, I am sharing this lovely quote:

"In Germany, the Nazis first came for the Communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, but I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one left to speak up for me."

- Martin Niemoeller, Berlin Lutheran pastor arrested by the Gestapo and sent to Dachau concentration camp in 1938; the Allied forces freed him seven years later.

Bah humbug, not holidays, birthday's, if anyone checked stats, today's mine. Let's see, spent the morning calling the PO cause kid skipped out on 22 classes, a probation violation, oh and didn't get her community service done, nother violation. Then it was off to work, mind you I'm on vacation. Why? Cause the idiot doing payroll saw I had no time punched and didn't check the computer to see I was on vacation and didn't put in any time. Result, no paycheck. Several hours later, we were off to get the weekly UDS, while driving there, kid informed me she was going out to a concert with friends tonight. To hell with mommy, all I'm good for is the car, the goodies, and the money. No, I don't feel like writing, I don't even feel like living at this point despite having a nifty new iBook. That even locked up on me while using IE, and let me tell you, trying to shut down a battery operated portable was a challenge, their instructions didn't work. And, yes a program can freeze up OSX completely despite the force quit, which didn't work. All in all it's been one hell of a sucky day. So don't bug me. I'm not in the mood.

And OSX is absolutely beautiful too, finally got enough set up that I tried rebooting in OSX. It's quite easy to switch from one to the other. Now, all I have to do, yeah all, is move all my files from the other machines, PC, iMac, to the iBook. and load in the programs I want to use, AOL not being one of them. It was interesting to buy a computer where AOL wasn't preloaded. I will say I am glad it has 20 GB, need it with 2 OS's.

Wednesday, May 30, 2001

After a very trying day, mainly tracking down the iBook, seems FedEx delivered it to the wrong person, I got it. The display is beautiful I am still in OS9. Going to check out the DVD before rebooting into OS10. However, the trackpad takes getting used to for someone who has never used one. It is absolutely beautiful.

Memorial Day, let's see the good news is my teen graduated, she made it. I could go into a long dissertation bout the graduation but with people blasting air horns and stifling heat, it wasn't the most fun event. And finding her after took almost an hour cause of all the people. But the suspense is over so I can relax now maybe. Next good news, the iBook shipped finally so I will be spending the next few days tracking it at FedEx anxiously awaiting my toy. I did have fun over the weekend with the Xeno RP group I'm in. It's one of those rp's that they closed the chatroom to do. Now, I need to do useful stuff. Me useful is not the norm here.

After seeing Vash naked in the middle of the town square (Goodbye For Now), I don't know what could possibly be more exciting so I spent yesterday defragmenting the hard drive. After, that exciting task, I tried to troubleshoot why my CD-R doesn't work, think the power supply is fried, no power. But the most exciting thing was yet to come, and it wasn't Meryl being reunited with Vash (Hang Fire) or watching Vash and Wolfwood trade quips, thou they do make the most adorable couple. It was telling my kid's friend that she had til today to move out. She's been here couple three months and sleeps, eats and eats and eats and eats and eats, and vegges out in front of the TV. Oh, she does have a job, works 3 4hr shifts a week. The idea was to give her time to pay off bills and get on her feet financially. Instead, she has turned into the consummate mooch, lazy, do nothing mooch. She shows no initiative whatsoever and displays incredible lack of brains like accepting collect phone calls from someone she doesn't know, running up my AC bill, etc. The moral of this story is that no good deed goes unpunished. Serves me right for being nice, Bah!

Saturday, May 19, 2001

Found another cool blog here. Well, anyone who listens to "Vanilla" by Gackt for 24 hours straight has to be somewhat interesting. I probably should make a list of interesting blogs instead of just throwing them in here and there. Might do that, but first got to fix the site.
Been making changes, added Ad Subtract Pro to the compy, not sure how it works with Blogger, but it's great for Crosswinds and other places that have annoying popups. See, there's no ads, no popups. It's a nifty program but it has done some strange things with IE. I had to turn it off to view Quicktime movies on the Apple site as it messed with IE's scrolling.

Thursday, May 17, 2001

In case anything is missing, moved pics into subdirectory and messed up a few things in the process. Be patient. I will fix it.

Wednesday, May 16, 2001

I was very busy yesterday, 14 doujinshi reviews done with new scans. That should placate people a little bit. Now, to placate me, I am being rather bitchy today cause I am sick and tired of people spamming this one mailing list with junk, urban legends, hoaxes, etc. Why can't people take a couple minutes to check Google before sending this crap? If there's any info on it, it shows up on Google. Grrrr!

Tuesday, May 15, 2001

Vacations are so lovely, spending mine working on doujinshi reviews for the site... and watching Trigun... and waiting for the UPS man and the Fed Ex man and the USPS man. Getting goodies.

Sunday, May 13, 2001

Blogger is still having problems I think, er, I know. Well, they are tweaking stuff. Anyway, just found out Douglas Adams, the author of "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy", died at 49 not 42. And yes, I still use Yahoo News, it does have the most relevant links and has actual news unlike some sites.

Saturday, May 12, 2001

It's amazing, when I am working long hours at that place, I don't blog. I am so glad to be away from there. I am on vacation, three weeks without uncaring supervisors, idiot coworkers, and I even get to miss JCAHO. And I didn't even plan it that way. I am so happy. I can relax, watch Trigun and await my iBook. And maybe post as blogger has been having problems.

Tuesday, May 08, 2001

Hot, too hot, so hot no mail, well from Yahoo Groups that is. Yesterday they blamed the blackouts. They will probably do that again. So, with relative quite, it's a good day to relax, watch some Trigun, and check out all the nifty Trigun websites. There are a bunch. Yum... Wolfwood/Vash....yum:)
Yesterday, it was try to stay awake by watering the lawn, trimming weeds, shampooing carpets, anything til the UPS man brought my package. I had to sign for it. For six hours I tolled, even reading email til it came at long last OSX. Course, I can't install it til they offer the upgrade cause I have a DVD. The CD burning upgrade is available. So, I wait.

Thursday, May 03, 2001

I am in love, no not with the security guard, pleeeeease. It's more of a love at first sight kind of thing, a beautiful work of art that can run OSX, Win98, Linux, have Apache Web Server, and my coveted Photoshop, burn CD's, play DVD's, make CD-R's, combo at a price that well....my iBook should arrive in about 3 weeks. And I can even program on it. And no blue screen of death.

Tuesday, May 01, 2001

A new coworker has decided to fix me up with a friend of his who is a short, balding, pauchy, security guard which he says makes good money. I don't believe that. Aside from all that, I can tell already he's no Vincent Valentine, he's a Christian and most probably a BAC (born again Christian). Not only am I not a BAC, I am a DYF (demented yaoi freak). I don't think it will work. Last time someone tried to fix me up with a security guard it didn't work. See he dislocated my shoulder, not during a date, thankfully. The only good that came out of knowing the guy was developing an appreciation for the problems trannies face in life. Probably shouldn't ramble, but just where am I going to find a man that appreciates yaoi, is straight and has nice equipment?

Sunday, April 29, 2001

Amusing, now I have heard (technically read) it all. Someone advertised their religion on a Yahoo Club. That wouldn't be so unusual except from what I could tell the religion (hosted on a porn site with porn banners, no warning either) consisted of porn, kinky porn at that. Their advice was to advise "those Adult Clubs with religious overtones to address themselves as a religion" I am doubtful that calling porn a religion will make it not porn. It's still porn.

Tuesday, April 24, 2001

News, well rumors, new iBook in the offing. Probably know more in a week, supposed to be more like the TiBook (Titaneum Powerbook G4) which has been quite successful. Now to wait.

And Yahoo news, search has been enabled in the Clubs again, they just hid the adult clubs a bit so it is harder for kids to find. Certain search works don't work like "adult" although "adul" works.

Monday, April 23, 2001

Comparing OSX and XP, OSX takes a mere 1.5GB of hard disc space while XP takes 2GB, guess I won't be able to use XP on my compy with a 2.5GB HD. Greedy OS's. Wonder how Bill Gates does it? Remember the DOJ and their suit against Microsoft for bundling IE in with Windows? Did he learn, well let's see, XP still has IE, the Windows Media Player is bundled in as is a jukebox as is CD-R writing as is firewall software as is improved backup. At least third party software still does it better. And XP has compatibility mode so it will run your old Windows programs, basically that's a Windows emulation program much like X-Windows for OSX. Actually, from looking at XP, it looks like someone was spending a lot of time windowing OSX, which still looks better. But the best thing is you can program in OSX. I haven't seen that easily available in XP. I'm just waiting for full DVD support as this iMAC has a DVD player and I have to be able to watch my Trigun.

Wednesday, April 18, 2001

Well, Yahoo has eliminated adult Clubs, well not really. They disabled search and eliminated the adult category but they are still incredibly easy to find, you guessed it, search on sex. And some resourceful people have made a club listing all the adult clubs. You can go there or just search the list for some juicy title, if it has a porn pic under the founder's message, it's a good guess it's adult. Good going Yahoo! You just made it even easier for kids to access the porn, see there's no filtering by Y!ID cause the adult category is gone.

Saturday, April 14, 2001

"Yahoo Internet Lust" well not in the US, guess the Yahoos decided being the biggest porn site on the net was bad for it's image. So, if you want Yahoo porn, got to use one of the international sites or Yahoo Clubs. Rumor has it Yahoo was responsive to customers complaints or was it the threat of litigation, read something about John Ashcroft. Hey, the RR doesn't just write letters, it threatens litigation.

Wednesday, April 11, 2001

One might note that I still have links to sites on XOOM now NBCi. I was thinking of updating them but as NBCi is folding, why bother. I don't know how long they will remain so guess I will be checking links more often. And of course, Google had the best links on the subject.

Tuesday, April 10, 2001

Wondering whether to replace the deceased computer and went in search of screenshots of Windows XP. And I found some, ok the icons are prettier but it comes in a very distant ie poor second to MAC OSX. It's supposed to be more stable, less crash prone than Windows 98 cause it's built on the NT kernel. Hmmmm, we have NT at work, it crashes just about daily. So much for stability. Course, with Windows, all Windows going to XP, all my programs will be unusable as it has a different file system, not FAT16 or FAT 32, NTFS. So, if I have to get all new software anyway, and what I want is Adobe Photoshop and I love what I have seen so far of OSX, it's a no brainer. Yes, I still have my sights set on that Powerbook. G4.
Another day, got FTP now on the iMAC and have my website on the iMAC, well one of them, the biggest one. I probably only lost a month's worth of email as I had done a backup not that long ago. And I forget how much else was backed up recently. I know I lost all those scans I saved off Aestheticism last week but it may still be possible to get them. There were a lot of files I had downloaded, and MP3's that my kid had downloaded that were lost. Oh well, never trust a PC.

Monday, April 09, 2001

Update here, my compy crashed bigtime and as I hadn't backed up that recently, lost a lot. I don't have ftp on the iMAC so, no updates, scans, or anything else til I find out what went wrong and get it fixed or do disc recovery. That's the joy of Windows. The iMAC works perfectly thankfully.

Friday, April 06, 2001

A 6 figure salary may not be in the cards for me, but it looks like I will get a 6 figure odometer reading on my car this year. A new car would be nice but I can't afford that Grand Cherokee I want.

Thursday, April 05, 2001

If anybody still goes to the old GeoCities site, they will note that it has been moved, all of it. The nice clean Yahoo protest is now here. And as soon as people update their links, I will be deleting the files. Now, back to something interesting, article about slash. It is somewhat related to Yaoi, still guy/guy stuff. ^__^

Tuesday, April 03, 2001

Is it fixed yet? Each edit moved the time ahead an hour so the post wouldn't show. The last two were actually posted around 10AM on 4/2. See, edit 4 times move it ahead 4 hours. Why so many edits, cause it wasn't showing and I didn't check the updates to find out why. I just kept trying to post it.

Monday, April 02, 2001

And for Gundam Wing after searching, realized was searching on wrong ML. Yes, people have seen this before.

I don't even want to think of the implications of that, well I am Mog and I came in 14th. Course, it would help if I actually played the game. Need to finish FF8 first, boring card quest.

For the boys, yes I did this test too.

Now to write that lap dance fic, yes Rinoa lap danced on poor Squall and he looked so miserable too (in the game).

Now it would be nice if Blogger was working but it seems to be deleting my posts. Made two and they aren't showing. Testing! For the umpteenth edit, still not showing. Grrrr!

Saturday, March 31, 2001

Blog is back. Not much new cept found out that a coworker who had tried to fix me up with a guy just doesn't understand why it didn't work out. See, he went and poured out his problems to her after I wouldn't date him. He had a little problem. And she couldn't understand how not having a penis could make a difference. Well, if you want sex, it does and mind you we hadn't gone out once and he wanted sex. He was pretty upset that I didn't just want to hop in bed with him too. If there's a moral to this story, it is if you are going to be a guy, get a penis.

Monday, March 26, 2001

Musing on the possibilities, hoping that he is wrong. mike_hunt48 may be the Bob and he has been inferring that Y!WR will take over RingSurf. And of course Hunter is not around to confirm or deny such a takeover. He has in the past denied it. But he has been gone close to 3 months now. And Mike's comment bout James and Andrea's help being needed "here" is worrisome. M is obviously Marissa so it sure seems like he's the Bob. Maybe, he's trying to torture us, some form of payback for picking on him for banning and deleting us. Guess it's time to seriously consider Ringlink.
What have I been doing, oh yeah...working. Well, I found this: www.moonfruit.com. It's got a site building tool that is flash, all flash, big flash, need a T1 line here. Interesting sites, sometimes crash the compy. The question is how to do a webring with a flash built site. And of course the other question is how accessible is an all flash site for text based browsers, ie non flash. I imagine it might pose some difficulties.

Monday, March 19, 2001

Server was down briefly, it seems to be back up now. Stuff happens. Wonder where Dreamhost is located? Hope it's not California with their power problems. My only power problem is not having that Powerbook I want. ^_~
Today was the big day, court. And unlike what some people think about the lack of justice, it went well, was just, fair and proper for the offense. Everyone from the attorney to the probation officer were very good, and I am quite pleased with the result. I can rest easier now that that is over.

Saturday, March 17, 2001

Now this is scary. I sure wouldn't want someone, Juno in this case, using my computer for their benefit at my expense. Course, seeing as most computers run Windows, that's a risky operation. They are as likely to get the blue screen of death as any useful data. Of course, they totally absolve themselves of any responsibility for damage to your computer. So, if they destroy all your data, that's your tough luck and if you don't comply, they will terminate your service. Better look elsewhere.
Having blog troubles, an edit is now a duplicate. Lots of error messages. Do I dare?
Dumb email, I quote. "I visited www.mindofmog.net and I noticed that you are not listed on some search engines. I am sure you can increase the number of people who visit www.mindofmog.net ." Course, it's not listed. I didn't go to all that effort to create a robots.txt to get listed. And in other news, Tripod is going on a site deleting spree. Why, clueless. Glad I'm not there.

Friday, March 16, 2001

Probably should post something. In the news, Yahoo! here, here, here. I could go on but I'm tired. Wonder who will be the next CEO? The Bob maybe???

Friday, March 09, 2001

How to move files from a PC to an iMAC and vs vs: Napster, AIM, ICQ, and if one has a CD-R, burning a CD. I spent most of the day doing the first option. I get awesome speed between the two machines.

Thursday, March 08, 2001

Today is the anniversary of my divorce, actually had to ask my ex as I forgot the date, so I went out and splurged on more Trigun.

Wednesday, March 07, 2001

Yahoo! warns; CEO steps down in CNN news today. YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Note, I don't hold any stock in Yahoo!
Nother bad week, let's see, mentioned experiences I had on a ML that had a Christian music loving Christian on it. That created a stir, she flamed me. I still think Pat Boone doing Heavy Metal is weird. Maybe I should just leave my comments to my blog. I did find out that I could find out info on court cases, just search by name and get the complete case history (list of documents) relating to a specific complaint or indictment least in Superior Court. Why would I even be interested sides my kid is going to court? Cause certain people intend on being there.

Saturday, March 03, 2001

Tired, bad week at work well I guess I don't get my thrills listening to a coworker read her Bible out loud then try to convince me I should go to some Christian movies. I'm still undecided bout seeing Hannibal cause of the squick factor. Anyway, relaxing, being useless and Napstering.

Wednesday, February 28, 2001

Earth quake today, 6.8, in Seattle, while Bill Gates was making a speech. Interesting, it wasn't during a Steve Jobs speech.
Thought I should comment on Napster now that my kid can play her MP3's on her CD player. I found it to be a great annoyance. First, she'd download some song I never heard of from some obscure group then insist on getting the CD. More often than not, we'd end up at Zia Records or Stinkweeds and still not be able to find it. Course, I have a pile of vinyl that I can't play. Stereos don't come with turntables anymore. And that Napster usually has what I am looking for if the stores don't. Can't have that. And friends sharing can be just as bad. One friend sent an MP3 of KMFDM. I went out and bought a bunch of CD's cause of that. Then, my kid took them so it's *grumbles* back to Napster. And yes, I've spent a small fortune on CD's. The upside of the new CD/MP3 Player is that she doesn't take a bunch of CD's to school where they get stolen. It does get expensive replacing stolen CD's, so I rather like the MP3 Player.

Tuesday, February 27, 2001

It works finally, got the CD creator to create a CD-R that can be read in the Memorex CD player, it reads CD-R's and MP3's. Course, I had to shorten all the filenames. I found I had to use the Easy CD Creator and create a single session CD, max letters it reads are 6 so all those names starting with "Wumpscut -" had to be shortened, and I made directories for each band. So, if anyone else gets one of those MP3 reading CD players, you'll know what works.

Monday, February 26, 2001

For fun I like to look at blogs, some of the best designed sites on the net IMHO. Anyway, noted that GeoCities blocking has messed up a few blogs too. The GeoCities files are gone, replaced by the dreaded red x (least in IE). Found some yummy ones here Bishounen Hunter Blog such a lovely occupation, and Elusive Heaven and check out her site, she has Utena, and the most droolsome site design. Now I will probably spend all day hunting anime related blogs.

Friday, February 23, 2001

I just love surprises...not! Yahoo did it again, this time GeoCities decided to block linking to graphics on it's servers wreaking havoc with a multitude of webrings. Rumor has it Tripod did the same thing. It would have been nice if they told us, but no. That's not their style.

Thursday, February 22, 2001

Four weeks now, my kid has had her privileges yanked, she still has 2 months to go on the drivers licence suspension. She has snuck out twice that I caught her at, and allegedly went for a walk cause she had nightmares about being incarcerated. She asked if she could spend the night with a friend. I pointed out her recent noncompliance with the rules and got quite an earful about how I am ruining her life, I took her life away. I reminded her it was she who took the drugs, I didn't force her. Dropping her off at school, watching her leave, the picture of defiance in her spikes, full goth regalia. Musing on her life, drugs, sex and lies - yes great life.

Tuesday, February 20, 2001

Well, I did something not so useful, read a fic, specifically a Heidegger and Palmer yaoi fic, extremely squicky and extremely funny. Gotta bug Ritty and Cys for it if you're interested. They wrote it. Now, to check out my new dj, ah mail is good today.
Probably should write something, schedule is all messed up and I've been working cause today I had Jury Duty which meant I got to sit and wait my turn to get called to line up to go to the courtroom to stand around til time to go in then get asked if I felt I couldn't serve impartially. And since that particular trial was for possession of a drug for sale, I felt I couldn't be impartial. They agreed and so I was released. Now I have the rest of the day to do something useful.

Saturday, February 17, 2001

A cautionary note, it is best to always back up your data cause stuff happens. In this case AOL 6 corrupted my files, and I lost all my newly sorted mail. Of course, I had a backup, AOL 5 still had the PFC intact and I had backups on CD-R too. I am not sure what happened, but I am guessing AOL 6 has a fixed limit on the size of the filing cabinet, beyond which it crashes. From my backup, I moved a bunch of stuff into subfolders and saved them separately, decreasing the size of the main PFC. So, hopefully it should crash less. I doubt I lost too much mail in the process, I hope.

Thursday, February 15, 2001

Long night at work, upsetting night at work, why? Coworker, not real bright, just transferred into my department. She told me this sad tale of her kid gone wrong, from the way she talked you'd think the kid did drugs or stole stuff or committed some other crime. Well, she did say the kid assaulted her but a careful listening of her tale revealed she started it and is charging the kid with assault to teach her a lesson. So what did this kid do that was so terrible? She came out to her mom. I tried to tell her that you don't change your sexual orientation. Noone converted her, she has a gay child and will have to deal with it. And it's ok to be gay. I think the worst thing about her kid being gay is having to deal with her mother's ignorance.

Tuesday, February 13, 2001

Shopping, got The $$60,000,000,000 Man, Lost Past and Project Seeds, looking for more Trigun. Wolfwood/Vash yummmm. ^___^
Being innundated with mail, I really needed to be able to sort it.

As fast as Netscape 6.0
Handles CSS and popups with ease
Crashes in a flash
But it sorts mail....AOL 6.0

Yes, I installed it, now I'll probably get kicked off all these mailing lists for having HTML mail - no option for txt.

Monday, February 12, 2001

Useful link Internet Traffic Report at a glance you can see just how slow the net is cause people are swamping Napster to get those last few MP3's downloaded before the ruling takes effect.

Sunday, February 11, 2001

Tired, so very tired, just wanted to leave it all. However, some nice email and a certain update early helped my mood. Sleep helped too. Now, bout the spam, got spammed bigtime, well so did bout everyone at Ringsurf.

Friday, February 09, 2001

Moving and sorting stuff is a big pain, just got thru sorting lots and lots of doujinshi. Hundreds and not one Gundam Wing dj and never enough Bart and Billy.

Thursday, February 08, 2001

Nice to do something for myself, so I bought myself a lovely Vash the Stampede action figure, It's one beautifully detailed action figure.
Info here, on how to add a webring fragment to those sites, you know those impossible ones like BigStep and of course, if your site is a messageboard, it works the same way, one line, no breaks, then the code works.

Wednesday, February 07, 2001

Kid got mail, DMV suspended her licence, well she got 2 speeding tickets on the same day from the same cop, she deserves it.

Tuesday, February 06, 2001

Ooooooo, look here. Somebodies got busted, and none of them were my kid. Course, I was responsible for that (my kid's) bust. And I have come under fire for calling the cops. How could I do such a thing? I suppose I should really get upset at that attitude but I'm not as those same people think the legal system is too harsh on child molesters, making them pay for their own counseling and drug testing or even worse, sending them to prison. Oh, the law is so unfair. Well, tough noogies. Drug rehab didn't work so something needs to sink in. And on the bright side, I got a raise which will help pay for my kid's counseling and drug testing. If it works, it's money well spend.

Sunday, February 04, 2001

More cheery news, ex told his folks bout my problem. Can things get much worse? I doubt it.
Why people at work shouldn't look at my site: on seeing the pic of Sephiroth on the index page, idiot commented, "She isn't wearing any pants." Now, if it had been a frontal view, doubt he would have made that mistake. Course, had it been a frontal view, I wouldn't have it on this site....no naughty bits here.

Saturday, February 03, 2001

Now looking for buttplugs, more specifically a dynamite buttplug, to get a blast up your ass. Not at Rectaltronics Buttplugs didn't know they came in stereo. Well, this isn't helpful. Must check ACME Co. Their products are all coyote tested for explosiveness. Ah here we go, stick dynamite up appropriate orifice and light fuse.
A few comments about understanding supervisors. I had thought my immediate supervisor couldn't care less as she was the only person who hadn't asked about my family crisis that I missed work for. Hey, if you don't show up, someone usually asks. Well, she finally asked so I told her. Her response was to very enthusiastically tell me how acid was her favorite drug to get high on. She loved it. Um, she missed the point here, point being drugs are bad and mess up your mind. The scary thing is that she IS my supervisor.

From a flyer in my kid's former bedroom, I found this. it looks to be an interesting and possibly useful link. Isn't that part of the appeal of blogs, sharing interesting links?
Bored so took out the latest issue of EGM. Inside, is a pic of a wedding cake with Mario and Sonic on it. Sonic is the bride. No they are NOT getting married and Nintendo is NOT buying Sega, but the thought of Mario/Sonic is not the thought I want to be thinking of. Then there's the ad for Fear Effect 2 with two rather voluptuous females wrapped up in each others arms. More bad thoughts. OK, good thought, Tidus, a chara from FFX, looks slightly reminiscent of Gackt as a blond. And Yuna, a female, reminds me of Rinoa, one of FF8's most beloved charas. And they are 17, seems a fave age for Square. I think I will like the real time 3D environment, something I loved in Xenogears. Course there were some other things I loved about Xenogears that I would love to see in a FF movie. Guess?

Taming the Rave explains a little bout the stuff my kid has done, Ecstasy, acid, Special K, nasty brain destroying drugs. Oh, and they can kill too. Don't do drugs if you want to live and have a brain.
You can do this now but not for long cause as soon as Yahoo stabilizes eGroups here, they will go international but you can access your groups without a Yahoo ID here. Use the same email and password as you did before Yahoo.

http://au.egroups.com/mygroups
Trying to focus on more cheery stuff, actually related somewhat to the site, I will mention this. Now, although I do have a SNES and many really awesome games, I don't own a Nintendo 64 or a Game Boy, for the obvious reasons that Square games are on the PSX. I have no intention of getting a Gamecube after reading this, or buying any Pokemon games or any more Pokemon toys. Funny, wasn't Square once a subsidiary of Nintendo?

Taking a break to enjoy myself after a rather bad week, yes, I am working. It's such a nice change from searching for drugs, and cleaning, and moving stuff while my kid lays around chatting on the phone and watching TV. Course, some nosy people, one Miss Perfect, was asking er prying is more like it into my business. Nice I don't have to see her. Rumor has it we may get a raise. Money is nice to soothe the battered soul. Least I am too busy to pay too much attention to the latest Yahoo screwup. Course, if you're on any eGroup, Yahoo is very much the current topic so you would already know it's Yahoo as usual.

One of those friends called, don't think he appreciated my asking him bout his phone messages or telling him bout why he wouldn't be seeing her. Guess it's not my place to inform them. Course, he said they all knew, had a good laugh about it. Isn't that nice, it was funny. Somehow I am not amused. It is safe to say I am less than optimistic about her behaving.
Cleaning kid's room, so far found a water pipe, a tab of either ecstasy or LSD, an unidentified pill, some white stuff, she says it sugar but laced with what, all missed by the narcs, several empty beer cans, and enough condom wrappers to make her the condom queen. She has been busy. Not done yet either. Think she's still clueless, two days after the narcs searched her room, she asked if one of her friends could come over to help clean, ie raver drug using friend who suggested she report me to CPS for abuse. Now that she's lost her bedroom (too many toys, had master bedroom), her cell phone, her computer privleges, her car, and is not allowed to drive, she might rethink that. Her other display of being clueless was asking if she could go hang out with her friends, those friends.

Trying to deal with cleaning out her room, going thru everything carefully as I go so as not to miss any more drugs, arranging counseling, etc. has been a bit of a strain. Then some idiot Navy Recruiter called for my kid. I said that I didn't think she was interested in the Navy. He said she was. I countered with that I really didn't think the Navy wanted a drug addict as she was just busted. OK, he agreed there. My mood was not the best, I was a bit snippy. Hard to be happy under the circumstances, major betrayal of trust here.

FYI, this site exist to encourage respect and tolerance for all people, particularly gays. You don't stop loving a family member cause you find out they are gay. However, this site does not encourage tolerance and respect for people possessing, using, or dealing in drugs. To make a long story short, I invited some people over to chat with my child and incidently search her room, narcotics officers. She's been busted thankyouverymuch.
Probably should sleep instead of write in my blog. This has been one hell of a bad day to put it mildly. Kid took the PSX allegedly to a friend's to play to keep her awake prior to going to work. She also spirited away her CD's, her clock radio, not that it matters that I spent thousands of dollars on the kid...oh and password protected her computer. Course I was curious why. Unfortunately I found out and am exceedingly pissed. It's a long story.

A few thoughts on Jung, ok, understanding Psychologists is helpful for a fuller appreciation of Xenogears, so here goes. Transpersonal psychology studies the fact that we transcend our limited biological self and become aware of a higher intelligence. Synchronicity is his term for meaningful coincidence. In plain English, that means God answers prayers. Sometimes the answer is no, but he does answer. ^_~
Not a whole lot new, did make a new page, robots.txt. That should keep out all those pesky search engines. For more info, I wrote a bit here. James gets the credit for explaining it so nicely and sending links except for Richard who helped too. ^_^

Interesting article, well if you've geen guilty of any of these you will find it amusing. I did. OK, so I can relate to the flame wars. Course, when I am flamed, I don't have the good sense to just keep my mouth shut. One would think that after having been in an abusive relationship, I would learn to just accept the abuse and shut up instead of responding and getting in a flame war. Maybe someday I will learn.

I was thinking, both Sephy and Vinny have had the priviledge of being uke to Pikachu. Poor Seifer though, hasn't had that pleasure. At least I haven't seen any doujinshi with that pairing. Maybe, I'll write a little fic.

Considering where this blog is located, ie on my site, and considering the site focus and the tendency for people to flame me, I have changed this to a private blog. I really should have done that at the outset. No biggie really as it hasn't gotten listed. And if you are one of those who like to flame, write harsh or condesending things about or to me, then think I won't react, ie vent, in my blog, think again. My suggestion is to stay the **** away from my site and my blog.
Well, interesting, someone seems to still be around, posting and creating a new webring to boot (jointly with another person). Actually, it's just a RingSurf version of a Yahoo WebRing I already am a member of. And although I prefer RingSurf (ring fragments are much prettier than navbars), I'm not too inclined to join. I prefer to focus on more positive stuff than another anti-Y webring. It would be amusing if the new Yahoo Groups turns out to be an improvement over the old Yahoo Clubs and eGroups. Gee, then someone may even make a pro-Yahoo webring. Now that would truely be novel. Edited to be kindler and gentler. Gee, the Blog isn't even listed and already it is being read.
Testing, it wasn't uploading earlier er now yesterday. Yes, I've been working, the kind that makes the big bucks so I can buy fun toys. I showed Gabe what Blogger is. And of course, he was impressed. My thought for the day: Bad karma may come back to bite you in the a**. The biggest news today is Ritty is having a fic contest, writing about real, as in not bishie types. Hmmmm, perhaps President Shinra/Palmer/Heidegger...that's as non bishie as I can think. Or maybe Steiner/Vivi.... *squick* Oops, almost forgot, today is George W's big day.

Since I worked, not much of interest happened that's fit for print. However, on the way home, this author of a newly published book was being interviewed on one of the local stations. The subject is porn, and when asked about the wildest place, he said, "Amsterdam." The Dutch let it all hang out, sex shows everywhere. Just imagine you and your kid pushing your grocery cart thru a sex supermarket. Guess they are rather blase bout their sex. Er not me. Some things still squick me, kids looking at sex, shota, incest except for Bart and Siggy, shota...

Yahoo Club Founders Club has piccies of what the new YGroups will look like. Yahoo Clubs will have more of eGroups functionality and bigger banner ads than currently. The new interface looks more like My Yahoo than the Clubs and looks nothing like eGroups. And [dripping sarcasm] best of all [/dripping sarcasm] you get to use a Y! ID to access the web interface.

Also, Yahoo made improvements finally to Y!WR. Of course, they still haven't fixed that little problem with the graphics showing on the wrong navbars. Yahoo is still clueless.

Psycat sent me the most adorable pic, really made my day. And on a gloomy rainy day, it is so nice to get a little fruit, er Sephiroth. Now I have to hit the books, got a lot of studying to do. OK, that means I got the players guide finally and will get around to playing FF9. Then I can get another silver tressed baddie, Kuja. And he's got the cutest little naval. ^___^
Musing on vacation spots for the winter, places where the sun shines and the weather is warm, yes SAD (seasonal affective disorder) here. Being lazy, that would be anyplace where there's a red dot on the map. Nother map and another. Course, it helps to know the language so that might limit things. And I do have a preference for the seashore, beautiful white sand beaches sound just lovely.

Monday, January 15, 2001

OK, finally got the archive fixed to match my new style. Probably wondering what Vinny is doing as the background. I adore Vinny, always have, always will so he's what you see when reading my blog. He's the one man I trust completely.
I was thinking back to that talk in church (yes I actually go to church) about the snowbirds, well winter visitors, and how they are missing out on a lot of opportunities for service by flying south for the winter cause it is nice and warm. It was pointed out that it was selfish. And it is. Course, it is selfish of us here to want the snowbirds to stay home, yes their driving skills leaves a bit to be desired. Something for me to ponder...
I'm easily amused. I find surfing all the recently updated and created blogs quite entertaining and I am just referring to the site design. There's some awesome talent here. This one I found last night is outstanding, and features Elly from Xenogears. And check out some of the previous designs. This girl's talented. And raving bout the wonderfully designed blogs is much more fun than reading my email. I had an online friend who was quite insistent I come and visit, made all kinds of grandiose plans from touring the country to sharing an apartment. I indicated a short visit to get to meet IRL would be a more prudent first visit. I guess he's been thinking it over, cause now, I got basically a "Dear John" letter. He's decided all he's willing to do is have dinner if that. And well, if I am going to fly halfway round the world, I might like a little more, a little sightseeing or something. Considering his change in attitude, there are places I'd like to go more with online friends that would do something together like Y-Con or AX or Japan.

Testing here, found a really cool looking blog and really liked the fixed background, so I messed around with this all day when not sleeping or working. It looks a little different now. Next up, making me, er go see Star Troopers. Now I know what those little people are that I see all over blogs. Suppose, it's being trendy but they are cuter than the real me IMHO.

Saturday, January 13, 2001

It's so quiet, the Clubs are dead, Hunter is gone and discontent is rearing it's ugly head. Or is it that people are just aware there is life out there and would rather have a real live as opposed to a virtual life? Dunno, I just feel something is horribly wrong. Maybe it's me, probably me.
There's going to be more Tenshi, article here. That's good news for us Tenshi fans, me I like Ryoko best. And off that fun subject, I was chatting with a fellow computer geek at work who actually wanted to see my site. I reluctantly showed her, and surprise she liked it. Course, I always find stuff I like better, like this blog. Btw, it looks better in IE, doesn't everything? So far, the best part of blogging has been seeing the plethora of beautifully designed blogs. There is a lot of talent here. Must check out all the blogs.

Friday, January 12, 2001

Let's see, it's Friday, it's raining, storm hit here. Everyone's gone, well the J's are gone, that seems like everyone. I have to work so guess I'm going back to bed. No time to play on the net or the PSX or...

Thursday, January 11, 2001

Testing here, now can I add pics, think so, so... Vivi courtesy of JNK World ... isn't he adorable? He's Vivi, the black mage from FF9 if you're wondering.
Tired, so very tired, that's what I get for spending all day yesterday messing with this blog. What's new? A friend has a new FY site, Open Unto Infinity and for those anxiously awaiting Carrie's site redo, it has some of her beautiful art, the most droolworthy Tasuki and Chichiri pics, scans and of course lots of yaoi fics. Be warned, a blog on a yaoi site will contain yaoi stuff.

Re Yahoo, quoting CNNfn "In after-hours trading, its stock plunged $5.88 to $24.62, a near 20 percent decline from its Nasdaq close of $30.50. Yahoo! is now down about 90 percent from its close of $221.50 on Jan. 4, 2000, shedding about $109 billion of market value along the way. And according to the WSJ. "Yahoo's stock plunged 19% in after-hours trading, wiping out $3.3 billion in market value."

OK, couldn't resist temptation, watched Temptation Island, all those cute guys and what did I drool over? The new titanium G4 Powerbook was lots more appealing than all that beefcake. I prefer my men with brains, or in the case of the Powerbook, Pentium crunching speed. Course, the new G4's are pretty nifty too, burning DVD's and Pentiums. Yum yum ;) What a difficult choice? Think I'm in love. ^____^
OK, it's go live time, this is it for design changes I think, least for today. I need sleep. Say, are blogs addicting? Dunno, but getting the bugs out sure is. Multiple uploads, minor html corrections, I sure am picky, picky, picky. Am I done yet?
Got the archive reasonably set up set the links can't be relative, different directory. Oh well. On to more productive stuff.
Q: What's 71?
A: 69 plus 2 watching.
Ok, back to changing stuff, still not satisfied. Not, not, not! However, think I need to look at others, this php bit still isn't working the way I want to.
OK, think I am reasonably satisfied. I prefer the smaller font but it looks crappy in Netcrap 4.7. So, back to the larger font. One last edit then I'm off to bed..maybe, maybe not. Probably dream bout the fruit after all this.
Have I totally screwed up this blog? Yes? No? Yes, editing again til I get it right.
Testing to see if the blog works. I just made it and not sure if I did it right. Now checking to see if nick got fixed. All fixed I think. Next will be the php...well, once I change the colors, etc. Did that, now to see if it will look halfway decent in both browsers. Now for the alignment, this is a very boring blog at this point in time. Next test, stripping html as per their instructions. That didn't work so hot.
