A new coworker has decided to fix me up with a friend of his who is a short, balding, pauchy, security guard which he says makes good money. I don't believe that. Aside from all that, I can tell already he's no Vincent Valentine, he's a Christian and most probably a BAC (born again Christian). Not only am I not a BAC, I am a DYF (demented yaoi freak). I don't think it will work. Last time someone tried to fix me up with a security guard it didn't work. See he dislocated my shoulder, not during a date, thankfully. The only good that came out of knowing the guy was developing an appreciation for the problems trannies face in life. Probably shouldn't ramble, but just where am I going to find a man that appreciates yaoi, is straight and has nice equipment?

Amusing, now I have heard (technically read) it all. Someone advertised their religion on a Yahoo Club. That wouldn't be so unusual except from what I could tell the religion (hosted on a porn site with porn banners, no warning either) consisted of porn, kinky porn at that. Their advice was to advise "those Adult Clubs with religious overtones to address themselves as a religion" I am doubtful that calling porn a religion will make it not porn. It's still porn.

News, well rumors, new iBook in the offing. Probably know more in a week, supposed to be more like the TiBook (Titaneum Powerbook G4) which has been quite successful. Now to wait.

And Yahoo news, search has been enabled in the Clubs again, they just hid the adult clubs a bit so it is harder for kids to find. Certain search works don't work like "adult" although "adul" works.

Comparing OSX and XP, OSX takes a mere 1.5GB of hard disc space while XP takes 2GB, guess I won't be able to use XP on my compy with a 2.5GB HD. Greedy OS's. Wonder how Bill Gates does it? Remember the DOJ and their suit against Microsoft for bundling IE in with Windows? Did he learn, well let's see, XP still has IE, the Windows Media Player is bundled in as is a jukebox as is CD-R writing as is firewall software as is improved backup. At least third party software still does it better. And XP has compatibility mode so it will run your old Windows programs, basically that's a Windows emulation program much like X-Windows for OSX. Actually, from looking at XP, it looks like someone was spending a lot of time windowing OSX, which still looks better. But the best thing is you can program in OSX. I haven't seen that easily available in XP. I'm just waiting for full DVD support as this iMAC has a DVD player and I have to be able to watch my Trigun.

Well, Yahoo has eliminated adult Clubs, well not really. They disabled search and eliminated the adult category but they are still incredibly easy to find, you guessed it, search on sex. And some resourceful people have made a club listing all the adult clubs. You can go there or just search the list for some juicy title, if it has a porn pic under the founder's message, it's a good guess it's adult. Good going Yahoo! You just made it even easier for kids to access the porn, see there's no filtering by Y!ID cause the adult category is gone.

"Yahoo Internet Lust" well not in the US, guess the Yahoos decided being the biggest porn site on the net was bad for it's image. So, if you want Yahoo porn, got to use one of the international sites or Yahoo Clubs. Rumor has it Yahoo was responsive to customers complaints or was it the threat of litigation, read something about John Ashcroft. Hey, the RR doesn't just write letters, it threatens litigation.

One might note that I still have links to sites on XOOM now NBCi. I was thinking of updating them but as NBCi is folding, why bother. I don't know how long they will remain so guess I will be checking links more often. And of course, Google had the best links on the subject.

Wondering whether to replace the deceased computer and went in search of screenshots of Windows XP. And I found some, ok the icons are prettier but it comes in a very distant ie poor second to MAC OSX. It's supposed to be more stable, less crash prone than Windows 98 cause it's built on the NT kernel. Hmmmm, we have NT at work, it crashes just about daily. So much for stability. Course, with Windows, all Windows going to XP, all my programs will be unusable as it has a different file system, not FAT16 or FAT 32, NTFS. So, if I have to get all new software anyway, and what I want is Adobe Photoshop and I love what I have seen so far of OSX, it's a no brainer. Yes, I still have my sights set on that Powerbook. G4.
Another day, got FTP now on the iMAC and have my website on the iMAC, well one of them, the biggest one. I probably only lost a month's worth of email as I had done a backup not that long ago. And I forget how much else was backed up recently. I know I lost all those scans I saved off Aestheticism last week but it may still be possible to get them. There were a lot of files I had downloaded, and MP3's that my kid had downloaded that were lost. Oh well, never trust a PC.

Monday, April 09, 2001

Update here, my compy crashed bigtime and as I hadn't backed up that recently, lost a lot. I don't have ftp on the iMAC so, no updates, scans, or anything else til I find out what went wrong and get it fixed or do disc recovery. That's the joy of Windows. The iMAC works perfectly thankfully.

A 6 figure salary may not be in the cards for me, but it looks like I will get a 6 figure odometer reading on my car this year. A new car would be nice but I can't afford that Grand Cherokee I want.

If anybody still goes to the old GeoCities site, they will note that it has been moved, all of it. The nice clean Yahoo protest is now here. And as soon as people update their links, I will be deleting the files. Now, back to something interesting, article about slash. It is somewhat related to Yaoi, still guy/guy stuff. ^__^

Is it fixed yet? Each edit moved the time ahead an hour so the post wouldn't show. The last two were actually posted around 10AM on 4/2. See, edit 4 times move it ahead 4 hours. Why so many edits, cause it wasn't showing and I didn't check the updates to find out why. I just kept trying to post it.

And for Gundam Wing after searching, realized was searching on wrong ML. Yes, people have seen this before.

For the boys, yes I did this test too.

Now to write that lap dance fic, yes Rinoa lap danced on poor Squall and he looked so miserable too (in the game).
A cool blog I found at work, it's filled with bishies. And results from certain tests. Gee, maybe I should put up mine, from Trigun natch.

Blog is back. Not much new cept found out that a coworker who had tried to fix me up with a guy just doesn't understand why it didn't work out. See, he went and poured out his problems to her after I wouldn't date him. He had a little problem. And she couldn't understand how not having a penis could make a difference. Well, if you want sex, it does and mind you we hadn't gone out once and he wanted sex. He was pretty upset that I didn't just want to hop in bed with him too. If there's a moral to this story, it is if you are going to be a guy, get a penis.

Musing on the possibilities, hoping that he is wrong. mike_hunt48 may be the Bob and he has been inferring that Y!WR will take over RingSurf. And of course Hunter is not around to confirm or deny such a takeover. He has in the past denied it. But he has been gone close to 3 months now. And Mike's comment bout James and Andrea's help being needed "here" is worrisome. M is obviously Marissa so it sure seems like he's the Bob. Maybe, he's trying to torture us, some form of payback for picking on him for banning and deleting us. Guess it's time to seriously consider Ringlink.
What have I been doing, oh yeah...working. Well, I found this: www.moonfruit.com. It's got a site building tool that is flash, all flash, big flash, need a T1 line here. Interesting sites, sometimes crash the compy. The question is how to do a webring with a flash built site. And of course the other question is how accessible is an all flash site for text based browsers, ie non flash. I imagine it might pose some difficulties.

Server was down briefly, it seems to be back up now. Stuff happens. Wonder where Dreamhost is located? Hope it's not California with their power problems. My only power problem is not having that Powerbook I want. ^_~
Today was the big day, court. And unlike what some people think about the lack of justice, it went well, was just, fair and proper for the offense. Everyone from the attorney to the probation officer were very good, and I am quite pleased with the result. I can rest easier now that that is over.

Saturday, March 17, 2001

Now this is scary. I sure wouldn't want someone, Juno in this case, using my computer for their benefit at my expense. Course, seeing as most computers run Windows, that's a risky operation. They are as likely to get the blue screen of death as any useful data. Of course, they totally absolve themselves of any responsibility for damage to your computer. So, if they destroy all your data, that's your tough luck and if you don't comply, they will terminate your service. Better look elsewhere.
Having blog troubles, an edit is now a duplicate. Lots of error messages. Do I dare?
Dumb email, I quote. "I visited www.mindofmog.net and I noticed that you are not listed on some search engines. I am sure you can increase the number of people who visit www.mindofmog.net ." Course, it's not listed. I didn't go to all that effort to create a robots.txt to get listed. And in other news, Tripod is going on a site deleting spree. Why, clueless. Glad I'm not there.

Friday, March 16, 2001

Probably should post something. In the news, Yahoo! here, here, here. I could go on but I'm tired. Wonder who will be the next CEO? The Bob maybe???

Friday, March 09, 2001

How to move files from a PC to an iMAC and vs vs: Napster, AIM, ICQ, and if one has a CD-R, burning a CD. I spent most of the day doing the first option. I get awesome speed between the two machines.

Thursday, March 08, 2001

Today is the anniversary of my divorce, actually had to ask my ex as I forgot the date, so I went out and splurged on more Trigun.

Wednesday, March 07, 2001

Yahoo! warns; CEO steps down in CNN news today. YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Note, I don't hold any stock in Yahoo!
Nother bad week, let's see, mentioned experiences I had on a ML that had a Christian music loving Christian on it. That created a stir, she flamed me. I still think Pat Boone doing Heavy Metal is weird. Maybe I should just leave my comments to my blog. I did find out that I could find out info on court cases, just search by name and get the complete case history (list of documents) relating to a specific complaint or indictment least in Superior Court. Why would I even be interested sides my kid is going to court? Cause certain people intend on being there.

Saturday, March 03, 2001

Tired, bad week at work well I guess I don't get my thrills listening to a coworker read her Bible out loud then try to convince me I should go to some Christian movies. I'm still undecided bout seeing Hannibal cause of the squick factor. Anyway, relaxing, being useless and Napstering.
